About Us

At Rare Blooms, we believe that self-care should be personal, empowering, and rooted in community. Our mission is to create meaningful experiences and products that support caregivers, parents, youth, and families of all abilities.
We offer a curated selection of personalized self-care gifts, inspiring books, and wellness journals designed to nourish the mind, body, and spirit. As we grow, we’re excited to expand into retreats that give caregivers and youth the space to rest, reconnect, and bloom at their own pace.
Rooted in the heart of Southern Louisiana, Rare Blooms is more than a gift shop, it’s a movement. Through storytelling, inclusive events, and advocacy, we shine a light on the needs and strengths of the special needs community. We host local meetups that bring families together to share resources, support, and joy.
Whether you’re looking for a thoughtful gift, a creative outlet, or a sense of belonging, Rare Blooms is here to walk alongside you. We celebrate the rare, the resilient, and the radiant in all of us.
Come bloom with us, your story matters here.

Dana Garrett, Founder & Creative Director
Dana Garrett is a special needs mom turned heart-led entrepreneur and advocate. She founded Rare Blooms in 2022 to offer personalized self-care gifts, empowering books, and inclusive events that uplift caregivers, youth, and families of all abilities. Her mission grew from a personal place of raising her daughter Alana, who has a rare syndrome called CSS and Autism, and realizing the need for connection, support, and meaningful moments that nourish the soul.
Now based in Southeast Louisiana with her Eagle Scout husband and two joyfully energetic kiddos, Alana and Wyatt, Dana pours her creativity into writing children’s books, developing caregiver and youth retreats, and hosting local meetups for special needs families. When she’s not advocating or curating meaningful products, you’ll find her journaling, jogging, or dancing in the kitchen with her family after supper.
Dana is passionate about building a business that supports other families, artisans and purpose-driven events. Through Rare Blooms, she hopes to remind every caregiver and child that they are seen, celebrated, and never alone on their journey.
"Bloom from your heart and become a gift of beauty to the world." -Dana Garrett
